Terms of Service
Effective Date: October 6, 2025
1. Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Jinjin website, platform, and related services ("Jinjin," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using Jinjin, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Plain language:
Welcome to Jinjin! When you use our platform, you're agreeing to these rules. Please read them so you know what to expect.
2. Purpose of Jinjin
Jinjin provides tools and services to help independent contractors ("Freelancers") and their clients ("Clients") establish fair and transparent pricing ranges for freelance work. Jinjin does not employ Freelancers, represent Clients, or participate in the performance, management, or payment of any work agreed upon between the parties.
Plain language:
Jinjin helps Freelancers and Clients figure out a fair project rate. That's it—we don't hire Freelancers, manage projects, or handle payments.
3. Non-Binding Nature of Rates
Any rate, estimate, or price range generated, displayed, or agreed upon through Jinjin is for informational and negotiation purposes only. These values are non-binding and do not constitute an offer, acceptance, or contractual obligation for either party. Neither Jinjin nor its algorithms guarantee that any party will accept or honor a rate suggested through the platform.
Plain language:
Rates you see on Jinjin are not final contracts. They're just tools to help both sides agree on something fair. You and your client can always negotiate outside of Jinjin.
4. Relationship Between Parties
Freelancers and Clients acknowledge that they are independent contracting parties. No employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship is created through Jinjin's use. Jinjin is not a party to any agreement between Freelancers and Clients and bears no responsibility for any work performed, payments made, or disputes arising between them.
Plain language:
You and your client work directly with each other—not through Jinjin. We're not your employer or agent, and we're not involved in your project's results or payments.
5. User Accounts and Conduct
Users must provide accurate information and maintain the security of their account credentials. Users agree not to misuse Jinjin, including but not limited to: posting false information, interfering with other users, or attempting to access data without authorization. Jinjin reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Plain language:
Keep your account info honest and secure. Don't spam, hack, or harass others. If you break the rules, we can suspend or close your account.
6. Fees and Payments
Jinjin may charge fees for premium features or services, as disclosed at the time of purchase. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. Jinjin does not collect, hold, or distribute payments between Freelancers and Clients.
Plain language:
Some parts of Jinjin might cost money—we'll always tell you beforehand. We don't handle payments between you and your client.
7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
Jinjin provides its services "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. Jinjin makes no guarantees regarding outcomes, project success, or payment fulfillment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jinjin shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the platform.
Plain language:
We do our best to make Jinjin reliable, but we can't promise it'll always work perfectly. We're not responsible if something goes wrong between you and your client.
8. Dispute Resolution Between Users
Any dispute arising between Freelancers and Clients must be resolved directly between those parties. Jinjin is not obligated to mediate or intervene in such disputes.
Plain language:
If you and your client disagree about something, you'll need to sort it out yourselves—Jinjin doesn't mediate.
9. Changes to These Terms
Jinjin may update these Terms at any time. The most current version will be posted on our website, and continued use of the platform after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Plain language:
We might update these Terms occasionally. If we do, we'll post the new version here. Keep using Jinjin = you agree to the new version.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Plain language:
If there's ever a legal issue, it'll be handled under the laws of Iowa.
